Updated list of area Christmas services

Cherokee County’s faith communities will celebrate Christmas with special services on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, including:

Christmas Eve (Tuesday)

• First United Methodist Church of Rusk (255 S. Henderson St.) – 3 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight worship service and Holy Communion

• First Baptist Church Bullard (1428 S. Houston St.) – Candlelight services are at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.  

• Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (760 S. Main St., Rusk) – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. English Vigil Masses; bilingual midnight Mass.

• Trinity Episcopal Church (1100 S. Jackson St., Jacksonville) – 5 p.m. service

•  A. Frank Methodist Church (131 Cooper Street, Alto) – 5 p.m. candlelight service 

• St. John’s Methodist Church (2020 Beaumont St., Jacksonville)– 5:30 p.m. Holy Eucharist 

• Central Baptist Church (1909 E. Rusk St., Jacksonville) – 6 p.m. candlelight service

• Trail to Christ Cowboy Church (5858 US Highway 79 W, Jacksonville) – 7 p.m. candlelight service 

• First Methodist Church – Jacksonville (1031 SE Loop 456) – 6 p.m. Christmas Eve 

• Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (1023 Corinth St., Jacksonville) – 7 p.m. English vigil Mass, bilingual midnight Mass

• Bethlehem Lutheran Church (1515 S. Loop 256, Palestine) – 7 p.m. candlelight service 

• First Methodist Church – Troup (202 E. Duval St.) – Family Communion is offered at 7:30 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. candlelight service

• Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (304 FM 235 East, New Summerfield) 9 p.m. Spanish vigil Mass 

•  St. Matthew United Methodist Church (Jacksonville) – Two services in separate locations. A 4 p.m. the service is at new location 201 S. Bonner St., while an 11:30 p.m. candlelight service is at Teaberry Chapel, 2525 O’Keefe Rd.

• Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, New Summerfield – 8 a.m. Spanish Mass, 

• Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Jacksonville, 9 a.m. (English), noon Spanish Masses

• Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Rusk – 9:30 a.m. English Mass

• Venerable Antonio Margil Church, 181 Main St. in Alto – 11 a.m. Spanish Mass
