Charles Allen White

Charles Allen White, 89 of Rusk passed away September 17, 2024 in Rusk, TX. He was born October 10, 1934 in Houston to Thomas Alonzo White and Sarah Elizabeth Davis White.
Mr. White chose to serve his country and joined the US Army during the Korean War. After returning from his service, he went to work for the City of Houston, working as a heavy equipment operator until he chose to retire and move to Rusk where his family had settled. Mr. White enjoyed classical music and also sharing this with his nieces and nephews. He was especially fond of “Peter and the Wolf”. He enjoyed going to church at Grace Fellowship, even though you would sometimes have to give him a nudge during the service to wake him back up.
Mr. White is survived by his brothers: John White of San Marcos, and Kenneth White and wife Delcie of Maydelle; cousins: Norma Glawson of Alto; second cousins: Elizabeth White Barr and husband of Woodville and Barbara Riewe of Houston; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Jefferson and Christine Davis and Henry and Nancy Ann McCarty White; parents: Thomas Alonzo White and Sarah Elizabeth Davis White; siblings: Howard White, Billy White, Delores Porter, Julia White and Cecil White.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday, September 20, 2024 at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, 221 West 5th Street, Rusk, TX. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
