Mary Ann Rasberry was born on January 29, 1938 to Lloyd and Ellie Pistole. She was raised in the Lilbert community and graduated from Cushing High School. She also attended Tyler Jr College.

On September 29, 1955, she married Doyle Max Rasberry, her high school sweetheart.

Mary began her career as a Recreational Supervisor at Rusk State Hospital in 1966 and retired in 1993. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling with her husband, Doyle.

Mary also loved gardening. She was awarded "Yard of the Month". She had a "green thumb" and could grow the most beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables. She was very talented and creative. She enjoyed painting and many of her masterpieces are hanging in her family's homes.

Mary loved her family with all her heart. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Mary was a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at her home in Rusk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ellie Pistole; son, Ronnie Allen Rasberry; sister, Robbie Whitaker; brother, Donald Pistole.

Mary is survived by her husband, Doyle Max Rasberry; son and daughter in law, Rick and Pam Rasberry of Beaumont Texas, daughter in law LeeAnn Rasberry, son, Randy and daughter in law, Tammy Rasberry of Rusk; grandchildren, Kyle Rasberry, Keri and B. J. Richard of Beaumont, Alyssa and Ryan Massingill of Rusk, and Austin Rasberry of Rusk. Mary is survived by 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She also had several nieces and nephews

Services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church by Reverend Jack White. Interment will follow at GlenFawn Cemetery
