Jackie Edward Lassiter
Jackie Edward Lassiter aka “Grumpy “was born on March 16, 1939 in San Angelo, Texas to Faye Morrison Lassiter and Ernest Edward Lassiter. He attended school in Corsicana and graduated from Hallsville High School.
Daddy is survived by Patsy, his loving wife of 25 years. He is also survived by his three children: daughter Darlene Stanley and husband Paul of Rusk, Texas, son Tony and wife Judy of Jacksonville, Texas and daughter Angela Castro of Henderson, Texas; and one stepson Carl Kinchen and wife Maureen of Grand Prairie, Texas. Daddy also had 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Daddy was a jack of all trades in his life. He worked at multiple law enforcement agencies, was a truck driver, an appliance repairman and retired from Cherokee County Courthouse and the hardware store in Rusk.
Jack was friend to all and a wonderful husband and Daddy. We all have wonderful memories of our childhood because of our father.
Grumpy and Grumpy Jr. went on a special trip to Colorado and he helped Tony restore a classic Chevy truck. In 2019 Patsy convinced Daddy to go on a cruise
vacation which was an amazing accomplishment considering he once told us when we were kids that he didn’t want to go any higher than growing corn or lower than growing tators. He loved going on motorcycle rides, attending movies and spending time with Patsy.
Anytime we needed him or had any questions about something he was always quick to help.
Our lives are forever changed and he will forever live in our hearts.
