A funeral service for Mike Dominy Sr., is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2023, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Bro. Johnny McMichael officiating. He will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery in Rusk.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mike was born on May 25, 1961, in Rusk and passed away on May 14, 2023. He was a truck driver for over 30 years and a lifelong mechanic. In his free time, Mike enjoyed playing billiards, horseshoes, and pitching washers with his close family and friends. He not only enjoyed these games, but he also took part in many outdoor activities such as mudding, fishing, and hunting. Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Dominy and Laveta (McMichael) Garner; wife, Janie Dominy; grandson, Dakota Garner; and granddaughter, Destiny Garner.

Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his children, Michelle Hall and husband Stephen of Rusk, Lisa Brooks of Jacksonville, and Michael Dominy Jr., of Rusk. His siblings are Earl Dominy and wife Brenda of Rusk, Duane Dominy of Rusk, Joe Dominy and wife LouAnn of Bullard, and Earline Fox and husband Jesse of Rusk. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Jennifer DeVries, Lonnie Jones and wife Ashley, Drew Dorsey, Steven Dorsey and wife Brianna, Deserea Garner, Emilee Garner, Maddison Garner, Justin Brooks, Kenny Brooks, Taylor Brooks, Brandon Brooks, A.J. Dominy, Mary Dominy, Cooper Dominy, Matt Oakley, and Weston Dominy. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren: McKenzie DeVries, Chloe DeVries, Ethan Jones, Logan Jones, Damon Jones, McKenslie Barton, Hudson Dorsey, Harper Sanders, Emma Sanders, Carson Sanders, and Hayden Brooks. Mike will also be dearly missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be James Dominy, Shawn Powers, Drew Dorsey, Justin Brooks, A.J. Dominy, Lonnie Jones, Steven Dorsey, and Kenny Brooks.
