Jo Philbrick Lee

A graveside service for Jo Philbrick Lee will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk. Pastor Patrick Evans will be officiating. Friends are welcome to visit with the family following the service.

Jo passed away on November 26, 2022, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital –Jacksonville, with her children, Cinda and Kelly, at her side. She was born in Kemp, Texas on August 30, 1926 to Grover and Birda (Howard) Shaw. She married Mack Philbrick at the Methodist church in Harlingen, Texas on April 4, 1947. They moved to Rusk in 1955 where Mack was principal and Jo taught English and typing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Wesley Sunday School Class in Jacksonville. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Shaw; father of her children, Mack Philbrick, and husband, Tommy Lee.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter and son-in-law, Cinda and Steve Crysup; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Tammy Philbrick; grandchildren, Jill Young and husband John, Lance Philbrick and wife Karah; great-grandchildren, Ava, Austin Hadley, and Halston, and many extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the M. R. Philbrick Memorial Scholarship at Rusk High School.
