Patsy Hughes
Patsy Hughes, 81, passed away at Arbors Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Rusk, Texas. Services for Patsy will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk with Pastor Kevin Gentry officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Wallace Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Patsy was born in Dialville, Texas and grew up in Rusk, Texas where she graduated high school. Patsy worked and retired from Nichols and Baskins Department Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church Rusk, where she attended until she was no longer able.
Patsy enjoyed gardening and spent much of her time researching and gathering genealogy. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Many of whom she visited through Facebook and messaging. Patsy loved being able to keep in touch with those near and far that she loved and cared for.
Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Willie Hudson; mother, Lottie Hudson; and sisters, Aleene Hudson, Lillie Rose Anderson and Ava Elizabeth Carrier.
She is survived by her brother, Kilvin Carrier; a son David and his wife Jennifer Hughes; step-son Gene and his wife Leva Hughes; step-daughter Terri Hughes and her husband and Gerardo Rodriguez; granddaughters Andrea Stapleton and her husband Brandon, and Lacy Hyden; step-grandchildren; Vera, Dakota, Aaron, Amber, Marie and Eugene; great-grandchildren, Kevlynn, Karlea, Kadon, Katy, and Truly, step-grandchildren; Trenton, Landon, Tapainga, Grayson, Lukas, Elaina, Julianna, Able and Jason; her dearest life-long friend, Annie Mae McCallister; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family. All of whom she loved very much.
Pallbearers will be: Brandon Stapleton, Kevlynn Ford, J.D. Speed, Gerardo Rodriguez, Dakota Martinez, honorary pallbearer Kadon Stapleton
