Drive-in political forum in Canton allows COVID-safe interaction with area candidates
CANTON – A drive-in political forum on issues facing East Texas voters will be held from 1 to
3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the First Monday Trades Day Grounds in Canton.
State and federal Democratic candidates running for office in East Texas, including Cherokee and surrounding counties this November, will address issues important to local voters.
Among the confirmed participants is Dr. Carolyn Salter (D-Palestine), who has field for the seat to represent Texas’ 5th Congressional District, which includes Cherokee County.
In keeping with coronavirus pandemic protocols for safety of health, attendees can listen and hear candidates from the safety and comfort of their cars by tuning into radio station 92.5 FM. The event will also be broadcast live on the Van Zandt County Democrats FB page (@VZC Dems). Visitors attending the drive-in forum must enter the parking lot at the South Gate Entrance, 390 W Dallas St (Hwy 64).
