US 69 traffic switch to begin Monday, Sept. 28, in northern Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY – A traffic switch is planned for US Highway 69 in Bullard beginning Monday, Sept. 28, as crews continue work on the US 69 and FM 2493 overpass project. The switch is weather permitting.

The switch is scheduled to begin after 8 am on Monday to help reduce congestion during school drop-off. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with a continuous center left-turn lane. Motorists will be shifted to the east side of US 69, allowing crews to begin construction activities on the west side of the roadway. The traffic switch is expected to be in place for several months as crews continue work. 

Motorists should expect delays, use caution, and pay attention to traffic control devices and workers in the area.

The project includes construction of an overpass with entrance and exit ramps and the realignment of FM 2493 west of US 69 in northern Cherokee County
