Police, first responders recognized on 9/11

Two Jacksonville entities will pay tribute to first responders and police this Friday in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the U.S.

Coffee Connect will host a special event at Postmasters Coffee, located in the Landmark Historic Post Office at 402 E. U.S. Highway 79 (at U.S. Highway 69) to honor local heroes during an 8:30-9:30 a.m. reflection on Sept. 11. Peace officers, firefighters and EMS are invited to the   event.

Later that evening, Jacksonville ISD will host a ceremony at the Historic Tomato Bowl to recognize military and first responders prior to the kick-off of a 7:30 p.m. varsity football game Friday against Bryan Rudder High School.
