Funeral services for Ola Jean Sides, 69, of Alto will be Friday, August 28, at 10 AM in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Alto with Rev. Ralph Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto. There will be a visitation Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Alto.
Jean passed away Monday, August 24, in Tyler. She was born July 13, 1957, in Rusk, Texas to Claire Ola Heath Sides and T.H. Sides.
She had lived most of her life in Alto and worked as a Tax Return Specialist for many years. She enjoyed life and spending time with family, especially her kids and grandkids.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Sue Flowers, Janice McGarity and Mildred Anita Sides; brothers Harold Wayne Sides and Thomas Dudley Sides; and grandson Peyton Giblin. She is survived by husband Clayton Brown of Alto; son Heath Giblin of Nacogdoches; daughters Brandi Hughes (Scotty) of Rusk and Amberli Dowling (Carl) of Alto; brother Wayne Sides of Alto; grandchildren Billy Lindsey, Bethani Cook (Ryan), Gabe Giblin, Audrey Giblin, Carl Dowling Jr., Christopher Dowling and Alexandria Dowling; great grandchildren Jameson Cook, Alexi Cook and Connor Dowling. She was also survived by her chosen sister Emily Pate; many nieces and nephews and a slew of kids that called her Momma/Nana.
