Barbara Diane Hamilton Bennett

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Barbara Diane Hamilton Bennett, who entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2026, at the age of 74.
Barbara was born to Oscar Hamilton (USAF, Ret.) and Gloria McDowell Hamilton. As the daughter of a career Air Force serviceman, she spent much of her childhood moving from state to state before eventually settling in East Texas. Growing up in a military family taught Barbara resilience and grace, qualities that remained evident throughout her life.
After graduating from Carlisle High School, Barbara married the love of her life, Ronald Bennett, and together they built a life centered on faith and family. They were blessed with two sons, Joshua and Brandon, who remained the pride and joy of her life.
Throughout the years, Barbara devoted herself to serving others through her work in church, healthcare, and the legal profession. No matter the role, she was known for her warm smile, welcoming spirit, and genuine care for every person she met.
More than anything, Barbara loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith guided the way she lived and the way she loved. She had a true servant's heart and possessed the rare gift of making people feel heard. She listened with patience, offered wisdom without judgment, and encouraged others with kindness and grace.
Barbara loved deeply and without reservation. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends and never hesitated to put the needs of others before her own. Her smile could brighten any room, her laughter was contagious, and her quick wit kept those around her smiling. She carried herself with elegance and class, but it was her warmth, humor, and genuine love for others that truly defined her.
Her grandchildren affectionately called her; Grandma Barbie, a name she treasured.
Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family and celebrating the moments, both big and small, that made life meaningful.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, compassion, and joy. She will be remembered not only for what she did, but for how she made people feel—loved, accepted, and valued. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, her life was a blessing to many.
Barbara is survived by her son, Joshua (Lisa) Bennett of Frankston; her sisters, Kathy (Larry) Kee of Troup, Teri (Craig) Adair of Chandler, and Melissa Silvey of Chandler; her brother, Joe (Kathy) Hamilton of Colorado Springs; her grandchildren, Frank (Jelissa) Zator and JP (Gina) Zator; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Travis, Trevor, Landyn, Kingston, and Nash; thirteen nieces and nephews; and her beloved little dog, Remi Rose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Bennett; her son, Brandon Bennett; her great-grandson, Daylyn Coggins; her parents, Oscar and Gloria Hamilton; her paternal grandparents, Joe and Maud Hamilton; her maternal grandparents, Richard and Lois McDowell; her niece, Keri Kee Sanders; and her nephew, Jeremy Silvey.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Hamilton, Kris Kee, Andrew Adair, Austin Adair, Jacob Silvey, Travis Zator, Trevor Zator, Landyn Zator.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 569 CR 4610, Troup, TX 75789.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Barbara's honor to the charity of your choice, continuing her lifelong example of generosity and compassion.
