Herbert Parr

Herbert Parr, 89, of Rusk, Texas, was born on June 21,1936, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on June 5, 2026, in Jacksonville, TX.  He was laid to rest at Still Waters Memorial Gardens Jacksonville, Texas, on June 10, 2026. 
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; a son, Michael Griffith and his wife, Alisha, and their two children.  He is also survived by two sisters, Ila Rankin and her husband, Walter and Margie Rasmussen; sister-in-law, Lucy Parr. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Ila May Parr; one son, Herbert C. Parr; 4 brothers, Robert, El Thomas, Harold, and Ray Parr.  He leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
He was a Captain in the Houston Fire Department for many years and enjoyed all manner of outdoor activity.  He was loved by everyone who knew him and he loved them as well.  He will be greatly missed, and we were all privileged to have had him in our lives.
