Donnie Elbert Wilcox Sr.,

Donnie Elbert Wilcox Sr., 82, of Rusk, Texas passed away on April 22, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home in Rusk, Texas.
He was born on June 7, 1943, in Rusk, Texas to Grady Elbert Wilcox and Katherine Louise (Middleton) Wilcox.
Donnie loved the Lord and his family. He was a hard worker and loved caring for the land the Lord blessed him with. He always said it was his duty to care for the land that he was blessed with.
He loved to grow a garden, tend to his cows, goats and chickens, working from sunup to sunset and loving every minute of it. He loved good old Gospel music and country music “the old stuff” as he used to say. Donnie had a good life with many friends; he said it was a “Good Ride!”. He will be greatly missed!

He was preceded in death by parents Grady and Katherine Wilcox; son Donnie Wilcox Jr., son Richard Bryan Wilcox; brother Glenn Wilcox; grandson Dalton Wilcox; granddaughter Katherine Louise Wilcox, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by wife Barbara Wilcox of 30 years; daughter Trena Jones and spouse Dennis; daughter in law Lisa Wilcox; daughter Gale Lee and spouse Billy; son Chad Caldeira; grandchildren Chris, Josh, Casey, Justin, Courtney, Matthew, Kristy; great-grandchildren Bentlee, Carter, Camden, Corbyn, Ansley, Aiden, Malcolm, Kamilia and Karmen, Simon, and Nadia.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Rusk, TX. with John Emerson officiating. Burial was at Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Wilcox, Lacy Wilcox, James Riley, Christopher Hudnall, Josh Hudnall, and Richard Massingill.
