AISD trustees to meet April 27, discuss superintendent resignation

ALTO – Members of the local school board will meet in special session 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, to consider the resignation of Alto schools Superintendent Derrick Conley as well as to launch a search for his replacement.

Conley – hired a year ago in March as successor to longtime Superintendent Kelly West – is the new director of Career and Technical Education at Little Elm ISD in Denton County.

According to the Little Elm ISD website, the district’s program has been recognized by the Career and Technical Association of Texas as a CTE District of Distinction.  

Monday’s meeting will be held in the AISD boardroom located at 244 CR 2429 in Alto.
