Upcoming holiday closings

Many area entities will be closed Good Friday, April 3, as part of their Easter holiday observance.

They include government offices in Troup, New Summerfield, Reklaw, Jacksonville, Rusk, Alto and Wells, along with Cherokee County offices. School districts posting Good Friday closures are Troup, Rusk, New Summerfield and Alto, as well as Jacksonville’s BMA Seminary. 

Meanwhile, Jacksonville ISD and Wells ISD will be on break April 3-6, while the Jacksonville College Easter break is from April 2-6.

The U.S. Postal Service will remain open April 3, with some financial institutions closed on Good Friday. The Cherokeean Herald will conduct regular Friday business hours and remain open 8 a.m. to noon on Good Friday.
