Funeral services for Timothy Alan “Tim” Huckaby, 63, of Nacogdoches and formerly of Alto will be Saturday, March 28, at 2 PM in the Martinsville Baptist Church in Martinsville with Rev. Don Gallatin and Dr. Dee Daniel officiating. Burial will be in the Alazan Cemetery near Nacogdoches. There will be a visitation Friday, March 27th in Alto at the Allen Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Tim passed away Saturday, March 21st in Houston.
He was born June 1st, 1962, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Rev. Marion V. Huckaby and Beth Taylor Huckaby. Tim grew up in Alto and graduated from Alto High School in 1980. He went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches and had worked as a social worker in the mental health field.
Tim had lived the last 33 years in Nacogdoches and was a member of the Martinsville Baptist Church. He loved fishing, camping, attending Alto High School Football games and mostly he loved his family and playing with his grandchildren.
Tim was preceded in death by his father Rev. Marion Huckaby and sister Elizabeth Kolb. Tim is survived by his wife Monaca Huckaby; sons Chad Huckaby and wife Candra and Scott Sadler; mother Beth Huckaby; sister Carolyn Denney; grandchildren Sillow Sadler and Tucker Huckaby; brothers-in-law James Kolb, Scotty Duncan and Chris Duncan; father-in-law and mother-in-law Benny and Arlene Duncan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Scott Sadler, Chad Huckaby, Casey Duncan, Bob Jones, Greg Allbright and Chris Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Wallace, Tommy Holcomb, Stephen Dyess, Scotty Duncan, James Kolb, Andy Grammer and Tim Germany.
