Sandra C. Rasband was born on March 11, 1956, to the late John Albert Clevenger and Caroline Helen Cunningham in New Port, Rhode Island. She was raised in a loving home and carried the values instilled in her throughout her life.
Affectionately known as “Sandy” to those who loved her, she was a compassionate and caring woman who cherished time spent outdoors, deeply loved her family, and had a special heart for children and anyone in need. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Sandra was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, where she found comfort and strength in her faith.
On January 15, 2026, in Tyler, Texas, Sandra entered eternal rest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert Clevenger and Caroline Helen Cunningham; her grandparents, Lillian Cazmay and Alexander Cunningham; and her nephew, Scotty Helm, and his wife, Rocio Helm.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughters, Ann Marie H. Derendorf of Rusk, Texas, and Kimberly C. Clevenger of Rusk, Texas; her sons, Andy L. Clevenger of Rusk, Texas, and Jimmy S. Dunklee of Michigan; her sister, Helen M. Self; her brother-in-law, Roy G. Self of Rusk, Texas; and her brother, James A. Turbyfeel and his wife Kathy of Jacksonville, Texas.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan Self of Rusk, Texas, and Timothy Jackson of California, along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sandra also held a special place in her heart for her beloved cousin, Maureen Deveau.
Sandra C. Rasband’s life was one of love, compassion, and faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family who continues to honor her memory.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, 11 am at New Hope Cemetery, CR 2109, Rusk, Texas.
