Rusk Police Chief Out of a Job

The City of Rusk announces that Scott Heagney is no longer employed by the City of Rusk.  The City does not comment on personnel matters. However, City officials emphasize that the decision was made following appropriate administrative review and in the best interests of the City and the community it serves.
The City remains committed to maintaining a professional, accountable, and transparent Police Department. Public safety services will continue without interruption, and the City is taking appropriate steps to ensure leadership stability during this transition.
The City appreciates the continued professionalism of its Police Department personnel and remains focused on supporting its employees and serving the residents of Rusk.
