Funeral services for Judy Ann Griffith, 79, of Alto will be Tuesday, December 16, at 2 PM in the A. Frank Smith Methodist Church in Alto with Rev. John Cogdill officiating. There will be a visitation time from 1 PM till services begin at 2. Judy passed away Saturday, December 13th at her home in Alto.
She was born July 19, 1946, in Alto, Texas to J.R. Merriwether and Marie Martin Merriwether. Judy lived in Alto all her life and was a member of the A. Frank Smith Methodist Church where she was in the Choir and the Sisters At Heart women’s group.
Judy graduated from Alto High School where she had been a twirler for all 4 years of high School and the Football Sweetheart her Senior year. Judy had worked as a bank teller for many years and worked at SESCO in Alto. Judy was “never say no” Juju to her grandchildren and she also loved traveling and shopping. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy is survived by husband of 60 years Larry Griffith: sons John Griffith and wife Kimberly and Kyle Griffith and wife DeAnna; grandchildren Kade Griffith and wife Casey, Presley Griffith, Mason Griffith and Ryan Griffith and wife Emily; and great grandchildren Wyatt, Sutton, Statler and Hudson all of Alto.
Pallbearers are Charles Dean Davis, Kim Scott, Bob Batton, Andy Grammer, Carlton Jones and Justin Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Judy’s grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Sisters at Heart at A. Frank Smith Methodist Church in Alto P.O. Box 635 zip 75925. The Griffith family would like to give special thanks for the love and care given by Shelby and Coco from Choice Hospice.
