Jan Hardy

Jan Hardy, 89 of Rusk passed away November 17, 2025, in Longview, TX.  She was born March 16, 1936, in Athens to Dearous and Velma Mary January.  She graduated from Athens High School and married Huch C. Hardy March 11, 1956.  He preceded her in death February 26, 1990.  Jan loved working with flowers and managed Flowers-N-Things in Rusk.  She helped organize the lighting of the Cherokee County Courthouse and Rusk Downtown Square.  

Mrs. Hardy is survived by her daughter Lynn Haralson and husband Jim of Longview; grandchildren: Cy Haralson of Houston, Catherine Haralson Price and husband Matt of Boulder, CO, Chaney Haralson of Austin, Adam Hardy and wife MJ of Katar, Jody Hardy of Avilene, Kyle Hardy and wife Shawna of Abilene; daughter-in-law: Laurie Hardy of Abilene; sister-in-law: Ann January of Mabank; great grandchildren: Townes Price, Adeline Price, Piper Hardy, Peter Hardy, Karson Hardy, Kolton Hardy, and Nicole Hardy; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, one sister and her son, Ricky Haralson.

 Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk.  Arrangements are under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
