Rusk Council to meet June 12

RUSK – A public hearing held as part of the City of Rusk’s June 12 regular council meeting offers citizens an opportunity to weigh in on a proposed REDCO project to refurbish the facility located at 555 Euclid St.
Afterward, city leaders will vote on the proposal – which calls for, but is not limited to, repairs, improvements and equipment necessary for upgrades that are not to exceed $125,000. 
They also will consider the following agenda items during Thursday’s 5:30 p.m. meeting:
• Discuss/consider awarding bids for Phase 1 of the Street Improvements Project related to CUSIP #782203
• Discuss/take action to approve an update to approve an updated to the City’s procurement policies to ensure they are compliant with federal regulations in accordance with CDBG-MIT program requirements
• Discuss/take action to approve an update to the city’s financial policies to ensure they are compliant with federal regulations in accordance with CDBG-MIT program requirements
• Discuss/consider schedule change for Republic Services summer hours
• Discuss/consider the proposed 2026 Cherokee CAD Budget
• A consent agenda that includes April 2025 check register report and account balances, along with March 2025 credit card statements
The meeting will take place at Rusk City Hall, 116 E. 5th St.
