Burton named lone finalist for Nacogdoches ISD superintendent

NACOGDOCHES – Grey Burton, Rusk ISD superintendent since July 2018, was named lone finalist for superintendent of Nacogdoches ISD on May 19, 2025, according to the Nacogdoches Sentinel.

The announcement came during a special board meeting, the Sentinel reported. 

Monday afternoon the Rusk district released an agenda for a specially called 5 p.m. meeting on Thursday, May 22, to “discuss the process and procedures to hire a new superintendent.”
