Henry "PeeWee" Wright

Henry "PeeWee" Wright, was born in 1956 to A.C. Wright and Lynette Underwood Wright in Jacksonville, Texas, and passed away March 9, 2025 at the age of 69. He now joins his beloved mother, Lynette; his brother, Dennis; and his wife, Vickey Houser Wright, in eternal rest. 
At the age of 18, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1974. His time in the Marines instilled in him the discipline, courage, and dedication that would define the rest of his life. After his service, he continued his commitment to protecting and serving others by joining the Jacksonville Police Department. His career in law enforcement led him to serve as a deputy sheriff with Cherokee County before concluding his public service as a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. 
Beyond his career, Henry was a man of integrity, resilience, and strength. He carried himself with honor and took pride in his service, whether it was to his country, his community, or his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom with those in need. 
He is survived by his father A.C.; and brothers David & Dean; sons: Clinton, Travis, Austin, Jarred, Jeremiah; and daughter Morgan. As well as granddaughters Johanna, Sarah, and Macey. 
His legacy will live on through his family, the lives he touched, and the example he set for those who knew him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Aunt Sharon, Tara, and our dear cousins Ashley and Lane for their unwavering support and kindness during this difficult time. Your love and help have meant the world to us. 
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield, Texas, on March 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. preceded by visitation with the family at 1:30 p.m. Immediate family and those who knew him are welcome to attend. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vietnam Veterans of America. Henry "PeeWee" Wright will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Semper Fi.
