Wells ISD announces Jan. 21 weather closure
Concerns about winter weather event forecasted for East Texas has resulted in a decision decision to not hold school on Tuesday, Jan. 21, said Wells ISD Superintendent Friday Wright.
In a letter to parents, Wright said officials will continue to monitor weather events and provide an update Tuesday afternoon regarding whether classes and programs will resume Jan. 22.
Meanwhile, all extracurricular activities, games and practices are postponed during this closure, he said.
"The safety of our students, staff and community is always top priority at WISD," Wright said.
Schools in Cherokee County are closed today, Jan. 20, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday.
