MLK holiday closings

by Staff reports

Area school districts, government (city and county) offices, financial institutions and the US Postal Service will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of the national Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
In 1983, Congress passed legislation to honor the life of slain U.S. civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., who died April 4, 1968. The federal holiday is observed on the third Monday of each January.
