Mildred Ward Hataway
Funeral services for Mildred Ward Hataway, 85, of Gallatin, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday,
November 16, 2024, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Bro. Cobey May officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Henry Cemetery in Gallatin.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Autry Funeral Home in
Jacksonville.
Mildred was born to Luther Ward and Hazel George Ward in Jacksonville and passed away on
November 5, 2024, in Quitman.
Mildred dedicated over 20 years to her role in administration at Rusk State Hospital, showcasing
her commitment and hard work. Outside of her professional life, she was a skilled seamstress,
lovingly sewing clothes for her children, barbie doll outfits and beautiful wedding and prom
dresses. Mildred’s love for nature shone through her vibrant flower garden, and she found
particular joy in watching birds, especially cardinals, visit her yard.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Edward Hataway; brothers,
Noel and J. L. Ward; son, Wendell Scot Hataway, and son-in-law, Stephen Stone.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pamela Folkman and husband, Doug, of Holly
Lake Ranch, Teresa Stone of Lewisville and Sharla Parton and husband, Lonny, of Fort Worth;
son, Cam Hataway and wife, Carla, of Kerens; sisters, Linda Price and Deborah Dopson of
Quitman; grandchildren, Charlie Harris and wife, Kim, Brandi Fleming and husband, Robert,
Emily Redlinger and husband, A.J., Kameron Hataway, Alison Tomita and husband, Darryl,
Triniti Hataway and Morgan Hataway; many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews.
