Caddo Mounds Star Party Canceled

ALTO, Texas—Those hoping to catch a glimpse of the moon, Saturn and Venus on display in the skies over East Texas will have to wait for clearer skies.
Potentially cloudy skies forecast for Saturday forced the cancellation of the Star Party at Caddo Mounds State Historic Site, which had been scheduled for Saturday evening.
Staff at the historic site made the call Thursday afternoon.
The free event was expected to feature Douglas (Doug) Parsons, a professor of physics and astronomy at Tyler Junior College.
The historic site hopes to reschedule the event.
