Funeral Services for Cleta Fern (Lanier) Berryhill

Funeral Services for Cleta Fern (Lanier) Berryhill, 82, of Jacksonville, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Rusk, TX under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Odis Bryan. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Berryhill was born on April 16, 1942 in Texas to the late Zephinia Ford Conway and Stella Katherine Powell. Mrs. Berryhill was a graduate of Jacksonville High School. After she retired from the Rusk State Hospital, she enjoyed playing the piano at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Rusk TX and watching western TV shows. She always had a kind-hearted smile on her face, adored by many and affectionately known as Memaw. Her most treasured moments were time spent with her family and her dogs. She was a life-long Baptist, and was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Harry Berryhill, and sister, Mary Alice Conway. She is survived by daughter Missy Miller, Rusk, TX, daughter Kay Williams, Gun Barrel City, TX, son Jim Lanier, Leander, TX, son Stacy Lanier and his wife Jeni, Escondido, CA and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024 at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Rusk, TX. Pallbearers will be Tony Lanier, Steven Lovelady, Mikey Miller, Morgan Miller, James Sanchez, Cody Strube.
