Getting ready for a community block party

Community partners Police officer David Heredia recently was presented with a $500 donation from Gene Keenon of Republic Service to assist with planning of Rusk’s 2024 National Night Out event. Community partnerships help ensure that the city’s “block party” receive ample support through financial donations, as well as volunteer help and needed items. In Cherokee County, the communities of Rusk, Troup and Jacksonville are hosting the Oct. 1 NNO event. Cherokeean Herald photo
