William Thomas "Tom" Pinkard
William Thomas “Tom” Pinkard, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, at the age of 76.
Tom was born on May 20, 1948, in Jacksonville, Texas, to William Thomas Pinkard, Sr., and Duwaine Pinkard.
Tom graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1966, receiving both the Mr. JHS Award and the Pete Lammons Athletic Award. Tom also earned Ad Altare Dei and Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout recognitions. Tom graduated from Stephen F. Austin University, receiving his business degree.
Tom lived a life marked by dedication and love. His lengthy career at Gulf Insurance as both an agent and Vice President was a testament to his commitment to serving his community with integrity and care.
On November 24, 1992, Tom married the love of his life, Lawine Wiser, in a beautiful ceremony in Honolulu, Hawaii. Their life together was filled with joy, shared experiences, and unwavering support for each other.
Tom found strength and comfort in his Catholic faith, which guided him throughout his life. His legacy is one of kindness, devotion, and a deep connection to his loved ones. Tom will be remembered fondly by his family and friends, who will miss his warmth and presence dearly. Each of them will cherish the memories they shared with him.
He is survived by his wife, Lawine Pinkard of Plano, Texas; daughters, Stephanie Perryman of Plano, Texas and Melanie Miller and husband Billy of Princeton, Texas; grandchildren, Macee Perryman of Mesquite, Texas, Matthew Wingo of Emory, Texas, and Chastity Givens and husband Roderick of Caddo Mills, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kensley, Davis, Dustin, and Charli; sisters, Mary Hanley and husband, Lynn of Canyon Lake, Texas, Nancy Tucker of Mansfield, Texas, and Beth Long and husband, Larry of Rusk, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and cherished friends.
