Caleb Tommy Blewett, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, morning after an extended illness. Born and raised in Virginia, Caleb pursued his education and career with a strong desire to help others, becoming a valued member of his community known for his compassion and dedication.
Caleb’s academic journey began at Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned a degree in Philosophy, a reflection of his deep love for wisdom and critical thinking. He furthered his education at Regent University, achieving a Master of Arts in Government, along with a Law and Public Policy certificate from the Robertson School of Government, and his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 2013. Caleb’s pursuit of knowledge and justice was relentless, and he carried this passion into his professional life.
In 2014, Caleb made Texas his home, initially practicing law in Rusk, Texas. His career took a brief detour when he moved to Dallas for three years, where he worked for GEICO Insurance. However, he grew tired of the corporate ladder and returned to Cherokee County, where he resumed his legal practice with the Law Office of Sinclair & King. Caleb found his greatest fulfillment in helping those in need, especially the children affected by the CPS docket. Caleb always went the extra mile to help others, especially the vulnerable, and always aimed to make a difference.
Beyond his professional life, Caleb had a diverse love for music and found joy in playing pool with friends. He was also an avid dog lover, cherishing the companionship of his beloved dogs, Havoc and Avalanche. Caleb’s warmth, wit, and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Caleb is survived by his loving parents, Tommy and Lela Blewett of Roanoke, Virginia, his brother, Jeremy Blewett and sister-in-law Jennifer and nieces Sydney, Aubrey, and Delaney of Vinton, Virginia, and a multitude of friends and colleagues who will forever miss his thoughtful insights, sense of humor, and enduring friendship.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Rusk Church of Christ.
