American Legion in Rusk

The American Legion Post #293 in Rusk meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at the Veterans Center at 1001 E 4th Street, Rusk. Most of us remember it as the “VFW Hall”. The next meeting is June 11 and will be a family pot luck.

The Veterans group “As You Were” meets there the first Thursday of the Month at 6 p.m. and the third Thursday at 8 a.m. Area Veterans are invited to come and visit in a relaxed atmosphere.

A grand opening for the building is scheduled for June 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring events for the whole family. They will be booking the space for events for veterans and the community after July 1st.

The American Legion will be set up at Brookshire Brothers in Rusk, June 22 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) for a membership drive. If you would like to find out more about them, stop by to visit.
