McDonald (Don) Henley passed away suddenly at his home in Alto, Texas on May 7 th, 2024. He was 88 years old. Don was born to Alfred and Willie (Gilbert) Henley in Weches, Texas, on April 10th, 1936. He graduated from Glover High School Class of 1954.

Don faithfully attended A. Frank Smith Methodist Church as long as he was physically able. He worked as a truck driver and welder, but spent most of his work life as a manager in the garment industry. Don loved welding and owned a small welding business in Alto.
Don loved helping people. He was a cattle owner and enjoyed working cattle. Fishing and hunting were some of his favorite hobbies. For his family he passed down his many skills, craftsmanship, the value of hard work, and how to live from the land. As we say good bye to Don, Dad, and Pa we cherish the memories of time spent with him at his favorite places- the shop, his barn, the pasture, the cabin, in the woods, on the Neches River and in the home he built with the love of his life. For his later years, we will remember his smile and the way his face lit up as he watched and interacted with small children whenever and wherever he could.
His life was celebrated on May 11, 2024 at 2 pm at Allen Funeral Home in Alto, Texas. A visitation began at 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial was in the Alto City Cemetery.
