Larry Eugene Hibbard
Larry Eugene Hibbard, 79, passed away on Saturday, February 3rd at home in Jacksonville, TX.
He was born Dec. 8, 1944 to Tommie Belle McClain and Lessie Eugene Hibbard in Monroe, Louisiana. He grew up in East Texas living on the family farm that included his mother, sister Doylene and their maternal grandparents, Miles Andrew and Myrtie Jane McClain, where eventually he graduated from Rusk High School in 1962.
Larry spent his career working at United Parcel Service. He started as a package driver and ended his career in management. He also was a shade tree mechanic. Bringing home every Falcon and Mustang to fix up to sell for extra income. UPS took his family from East Texas to the Dallas Metroplex. Larry’s roots were always strongly tied to East Texas and after retirement he returned to the piney woods and lived in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife Cecilia Hibbard; daughters, Amy Moore (David) and Jill Hibbard; grandchildren, Hailey Hibbard, Brandon Moore and DeLane Moore; great- grandchildren, Skyler Rivera, Ethan Rivera and Maci Bonner; sister Doylene Lloyd (Gary); nieces, Kim Easley, Kristie Tillman and nephew Kent Lloyd.
