Grady Glenn Wilcox

Grady Glenn Wilcox, 74 of Rusk peacefully passed away in his home on Saturday, April 20th 2024.

He was born on December 20, 1949 in Rusk, TX to Elbert Grady Wilcox and Katherine Middleton Wilcox. Glenn graduated from Rusk High School in 1968 and North Texas State University in 1972.

Glenn moved to Houston and married his loving wife of 47 years, Beverly Vance Wilcox. Glenn worked as a manager for Kmart and Rogers Grain in Houston, TX, Tractor Supply in Jacksonville, TX, and Lowe’s in Nacogdoches, TX.

In retirement, Glenn enjoyed caring for his cows, working in the yard, and building things in his shop. He was most proud of his 7 grandchildren, and bragged on them to anyone who would listen.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents Katherine and Grady Wilcox, and numerous aunts/uncles/family members. Survivors include wife Beverly Wilcox; brother Donnie Wilcox and wife Barbara of Rusk; children Patrick Wells and wife Valerie of Montgomery, Tx; Nicki Isola and husband Jeff of Simonton, Tx; Ashley Wilcox-Cernosek and husband Gregg of Fulshear, Tx; grandchildren Hayley, Abby, Cody Wells; Mason and Madison Maniscalco; Tyler and Allie Cernosek; nieces and nephews Donnie Jr and Lisa Wilcox, Trena and Dennis Jones, Gale Lee and many special great nieces/nephews.

Pallbearers include: Patrick Wells, Gregg Cernosek, Jeff Isola, Mason Maniscalco, Tyler Cernosek, Cody Wells.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Glenn’s name to his beloved church Rusk Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation for Mr. Wilcox will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 927 Crockett Street, Rusk, TX, 75785. A time to celebrate his life will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Pastor Lee Flowers will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Rusk, TX.
