Randall Stephen Dowling, 76, of Alto, passed away on December 10, 2023, in Jacksonville, TX.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday, December 14th, at O.T. Allen & Sons Funeral Home in Alto, TX.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, December 15th at (Cold Springs Methodist Church with the Justin Lindsey of Timbercreek Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Arrangements are by O.T. Allen & Sons Funeral Home.
Randy was born in Jacksonville, TX to Rupert and Doris Dowling on August 16, 1947. He graduated from Alto High School. He married Carol Grammer on July 20, 1969 in Alto. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1985. He worked for the Texas Forest Service at the Indian Mound Nursery, Continental Bank in Alto, and retired as a High School Teacher from Stubblefield Learning Center in Lufkin. He was a member of the Round Table at Miss Mollies Diner and the King of the Back Roads. Randy enjoyed gardening, reading, and his family.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents Rupert & Doris Dowling, grandparents Buell & Mertie Conner, and in-laws James and Orell Grammer.
Randy is survived by his wife Carol Dowling; sons: Stephen Dowling, Blake & Brittany Dowling; daughters: Mollie & Bodi Watson, Ellie & Troy Stephenson, Jessica & Christian Randall, Haley & Ronnie Hannah. Grandchildren: Emily Dowling, Devin & Mariah Dowling, Lauren & Charley Reid, Hanna and Kody Stanley, Cody Watson, Austin Stephenson, Randa & Josh Baker, Madelyne & Everett Cox, Katie & Kiely Jones, Darcy Dowling, Madison & Logan Cook, Matthew Randall, Rory, Holt, and Grayson Hannah. Great-Grandchildren: Ashlynn Mcnutt, Alli & Asher Dowling, Remi & Marlee Reid, Leighton Stanley, Everlie Cox, Luke Baker, and numerous brother and sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be sons: Stephen & Blake; son-in-laws: Bodi, Troy, Christian, & Ronnie and family friend: Ralph Stanley
