Cody James Brummett
A funeral service for Cody James Brummett is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Pastor Keith Hassell officiating. Cody will be laid to rest at Still Waters Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, and the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Cody was born on November 12, 1999, to Carl and Diana (Bybee) Brummett in Tyler, Texas. Cody was a loving son, brother, husband, and father. He met and fell in love with his loving wife of 7 years, Heather Haney, and had 1 son, Aiden Brummett and a bonus son, Christian Haney, who he loved unconditionally. Cody loved to go fishing as a family. Aiden was a “Daddy’s Boy” and was Cody’s pride and joy – they did everything together. Cody always put his family first. He loved them with all his heart. He was known as a “Jack of All Trades, and a Master of None”. Cody was a carpenter and took pride in his work. He was a hard worker and loved what he did. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Cody was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Jacob Walker and Michael Brummett.
Left to cherish Cody’s memory are his parents, Carl and Diana Brummett of Maydelle; loving wife, Heather Haney of Rusk, and 2 sons, Aiden Brummett and Christian Haney of Rusk. His 8 brothers are James Butler of Frisco, Mark Butler of Kansas City, Joshua Brummett and wife Jessica of Mesquite, Jeremy Brummett and wife Crystal of Jacksonville, Jonathan Brummett and wife Marque of Midlothian, Dustin Walker and wife Laramey of Longview, JaySean Brummett of Maydelle, and Ray Brummett of Maydelle. His 2 sisters are Bonnie Wasson and husband Dr. James of Tyler, and Hannah Whittmore of Palestine. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Robert Wallace of Mabank, and mother-in-law, Margaret Haney of Mabank; grandparents, Charlie and Cynthia Haney of Wills Point; aunt and uncle, David and Letha Haney of Wills Point; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Silas Brummett, Chris Barboza, Jonathan Brummett, Jeremy Brummett, Robert Wallace, JaySean Brummett, Matthew Hines, and Kenneth Mettlen. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Brummett and Christian Haney.
