Loma Ruth Carroll

A funeral service for Loma Ruth Carroll, 89, is scheduled 2 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Rusk with Rev. Lee Welch officiating. Visitation will begin 1 hour before. She will be laid to rest at Jarratt Cemetery in Jacksonville.

She was born on February 23, 1933 and passed away on January 23, 2023. Loma’s passion for gardening was shown through her beautiful yard. You would never go hungry when she was around she could whip up anything without a recipe that would always come out tasting amazing. She absolutely loved her children and grandchildren. Loma was an avid reader and had read her bible cover to cover at least 7 times.

Loma was preceded in death by her parents, Reginald and Marva Lee Dickson; sister, Janelle Cleaver; grandson, Collin Carroll; and great grandsons Caden Nettles and Matthew Taylor Norris.

Left to cherish Loma’s memory are her children, Doug Carroll of Rusk, Carla Moore and husband Larry of Jacksonville, Jeffery Carroll and wife Sandra of Rusk, and John Carroll and wife Mary Liz of Gallatin. Her brothers are James Dickson of Jacksonville, and Billy Jack Dickson of Brownsboro. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be John Arlon Carroll, Jeffery Brooks, Collin Brooks, Connor Cowan, Chris Stovall, Stephen Brooks.
