Melonie Jo Stallings Melonie Jo Stallings

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, Melonie Jo Stallings, mother of two and friend to many, passed away at Hospice of East Texas following a car accident. Born July 11, 1985, in Rusk, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John Wayne Stallings. Melonie is survived by her mother Rebecca McKnight; Chris Gaulden; her two sons Levi & C.J. Gaulden; brother Ryan Roddie; grandfather Willard Wayne Stallings; many friends & relatives left to cherish her memory.

Melonie loved camping & fishing. Cooking outdoors was her ideal dinner planning as well as gathering the best wood for the fire. She could enlighten you on all things fishing, what fish were biting, the best lure to use & where to cast your line. She knew every fishing location in Cherokee County and who was there most days. Raising her own worms at one time, not a hobby for most women, she wanted the experience for her sons.

A friend to everyone; she saw the good in each person & forgave injustice quickly.

Melonie was a member of Reklaw Baptist Church and came to her faith in Jesus on November 15, 2015.

A memorial service was held on Saturday December 4th at the Reklaw Baptist Church. Special thanks to Brother Jerry Bennett for providing a wonderful memorial service, meal & fellowship for our friend Melonie & her family.
