Willam Thomas Denson (Bill)
William Thomas Denson (Bill), 84, passed away November 2, 2022 at his home in Ponta Texas. A celebration service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Rusk with Brother Ross Worely officiating.
Bill was born October 22, 1938 in Gilmer, Texas, on Saturday of the Yamboree. He graduated from Union Hill High School in 1956 as a distinguished student of the Who’s Who in Texas. He continued his education at Kilgore College where he was able to gain skills that helped him start his career in civil engineering. He later became, and retired as, an independent insurance agent owning and operating Diana Insurance and Real Estate.
Bill was a devout servant of the Lord and was active in the church as a Deacon and a member of Gideons International. He enjoyed observing God’s wonder though nature. He often would sit outside for hours watching the birds and squirrels. He enjoyed spending time at the deer lease, hunting with his son, grandson and great-grandsons. Bill lived a blessed life spending his retirement traveling the United State with his wife and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow up and walk the path the Lord has given them.
Bill is preceded in death by parents Zelma and Jesse Denson, brother Scotty Denson, and great-granddaughter Elaina Grimes.
Survivors include, his bride of 63 years, Charlotte Hymer Denson of Ponta; son Mike Denson and wife Janet of Ponta; daughter Chery Luna of Reklaw. Grandchildren include Stacy Flournoy of Gladewater, Thomas Denson and wife Alicia of Henderson, Stephanie Melton and husband Nick of Tyler, Avery and Dawson Luna of Tyler. Great-grandchildren include Kreston, Lincoln, and Jackson Grimes of Gladewater.
