Mary Jane Jones
Mary Jane Jones, 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at UT Health Jacksonville. A service for Mary Jane will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 2:30 PM at First Baptist Church in Rusk with Pastor Brian Givens and Pastor Brad Turlington officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM. Burial will follow the service at Russell Cemetery.
Mary Jane was an avid gardener. She loved all the outdoors. Mary Jane loved to travel, especially on her “sister trips.” She loved her church and was an active member. Mary Jane loved her family and the “family announcements” at all the gatherings. She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw to her 6 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren.
Mary Jane was the first baby girl born at Rusk Memorial Hospital on October 18, 1949. She grew up in the Bulah Community and attended Rusk schools. She married Thomas (Tommy) Jones on February 14, 1970.
She worked at Rusk State Hospital for 20 years in the purchasing and supply department before retiring. She then began working at Texas National Bank.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; Calvin and Frankie Hugghins and grandson; Stephen C. Selman.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas V. Jones; daughters, Theressa O’Quinn (William), of Central; Toni Krieg (Gary) of Vernon; grandchildren, Kristi Selman, Micah O’Quinn, Logen O’Quinn (Ashley), Michael Krieg (Mandy), Laura McIntosh (John); great-grandchildren, Jakelyn, Gunnar, Wesley, Katelyn, KK, Tristan, Brodie, Brianna, Aspen, Hayden, Wyatt, Parker, and Beau; brother, John C. Hugghins; sisters, Louise Rix, Patsy Covington, Kathy Bates, Sheila Hocker, Joy Helm, and Linda Dagle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearer s will be Allen O’Quinn, Logen O’Quinn, Michael Krieg, John McIntosh, Jason Crysup, David Hocker, and Burke Dagle.
Memorials in Mary Jane’s name may be made to First Baptist Church of Rusk, Texas.
