Wind advisory through 6 p.m. today
Windy conditions are expected areawide today as west northwest winds increase to 20-25 mph with gusts to 35-40 mph. These winds will quickly diminish by sunset this evening.
National Weather Service officials in Shreveport have issued a wind advisory through 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25.
According to www.weather.gov, "strong post-frontal winds and subsequently rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. Otherwise, no hazardous weather is expected in this time frame."
Officials have forecasted that scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will return by Friday.
