Nan Ellen Webb Pryor, 87, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2022, in Fort Worth, TX. Nan was born on March 9, 1935 in Temple, TX, to Lonnie Houston Webb and Juanita Pauline Foster Webb.

Nan graduated from Rusk High School in 1953 and went on to earn a BS in Biology from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1957. She also earned her Master’s Degree from the University of North Texas. Nan had a 40+ year career as a Research Scientist with the USDA and retired in 2012 at age 77.

Nan married Henry Eldred Pryor on June 3, 1957 in Rusk, TX. The couple had 3 children, Robert Pryor of Galax VA, David Pryor of Temple, TX, and Doug Pryor of Arlington, TX.

Nan was best known for loving people. While her career was as a Research Scientist, people were her mission. Specifically advocating and supporting mental health. Nan was very involved in her church and community in Bryan, TX where she lived for 50+ years. She endlessly supported her family and anyone in need. She was an avid swimmer, loved gardening, floral arranging, and serving others.

Nan is survived by her sons: Robert and his wife Susan, David and his wife Deleese, and Doug and his wife Robin. She has 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with 2 more arriving later this year. She is also survived by two brothers, Joe Webb and his wife Nancy, and Foster Webb and his wife Dona, and their families. Nan is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

The service for Nan Pryor will be held on Sunday, Aug 21st, 2:00 PM, at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, TX in Wade Chapel. Visitation: Sunday, at 12:00 PM at Wade Chapel. Burial: Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk, TX.
