Mike Cliburn

Mike Cliburn, 70, of Palestine, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Highland Pines in Longview. He was born to B.C. and Wessie (Fitchett) Cliburn on February 2, 1952 in Crockett.

A funeral service for Mike will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Wallace Thompson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Gentry officiating.

He enjoyed playing golf and even did some fishing and hunting. Mike traveled to Las Vegas on many occasions and enjoyed watching all the Dallas sports teams. His family always looked forward to his visits during the holidays. He was the life of the party and was always cracking jokes.

Mike graduated from Grapeland High school in 1970 and attended Tyler Junior College. Mike began his career as a car salesman at Isaacs Motor Company in Rusk and spent over 50 years selling cars in East Texas. He had many loyal customers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B.C. and Wessie and his brother, Jimmy Cliburn.

Mike is survived by his niece, Jennifer Griffin and husband Greg; nephew, Chad Cliburn and wife Elizabeth; sister-in-law Linda Kay Cliburn; great-nieces and nephew; Bailey Kay and Peyton Avery, and Eloise Findley and Conoly James Cliburn and many, many, friends.

Pallbearers will be Charles Hassel, Kelly Philbrick, Harvey Hill, Jimmy Isaacs, Jerry Thompson, and John Chapman.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
