A funeral service for Irma Byler Wallace Paul, 82, is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Bryan Givens will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Atoy cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 7, 2022 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Irma’s family from 5 to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Irma was born September 10, 1939 in Houston to Sidney and Lucile Byler and went to her heavenly home on July 2, 2022. Her family and friends will miss her love and sense of humor. She loved traveling with her husband, Arlin, and in recent years her favorite pastime was watching Judge Judy on TV. All friends and family knew that 4:00 was reserved for Judge Judy. She was a member of First Baptist Church Rusk for over 60 years.

Irma married Vertice Wallace in January 1959 and moved to Rusk, Texas. After his death, she married Arlon Paul in 1995. She received BBA degree from University of Texas at Tyler and worked at Rusk State Hospital until retirement in 1995. After retirement, she had many hobbies including quilting and cross-stitch.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years, Vertice Wallace; husband of 27 years, Arlin Paul; brother, Sidney Eldred Byler; sister, Sylvia Franklin; and grandson, Michael John Vertice Wallace.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children: Teresa McManus and husband Don of Rusk, Mike Wallace of Henderson, Betty (BJ) Illsley and husband Doug of Rusk. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Yvonne Moore of Houston, Cal Wallace of West Point, Pat Chastain and husband Howard of Jacksonville, and Catherine Cummins of Longview; and a sister, Sharon Miller of Bastrop. Irma was blessed with nine grandchildren: Ron Evans, Celeste Illsley Fonseca, Karen Evans Freidhoff, Stephen Chastain, Jason Chastain, Dana Ferrell, Matthew Ferrell, Kimbra Ferrell Harper, and Caitlyn McManus Jordan. She also had 12 great grandchildren: Brayden Huddleston, Nicholas Evans, Colby Chastain, Conner Chastain, Wesley Evans, Jacob Chastain, Ellie Tietz, Jacob Beavers, Greyson Beavers, Abbey Harper, Sophie Jordan, and Aidan Harper.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Chastain, Jason Chastain, Mark Tietz, Ryan Jordan, Adam Harper, and Brayden Huddleston. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Evans, Fernando Fonseca, and Colby Chastain.
