Glenda McGowan Black

Glenda McGowan Black was born on September 25, 1952 to Jesse H. and Novaline McGowan in Ponta, TX. She passed away January 12, 2022 in Tyler, TX. She resided Rusk, TX until her passing. She graduated from Rusk High School in 1970.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie H and Novaline McGowan; two sisters, Brenda McGowan and Linda Greenwood; brother, Darryl McGowan; and nephew, Justin McGowan.

Keeping her memory and legacy alive are her devoted husband Travis Black of Rusk; and children, Tara and Lon Hinton of Bullard, TX, Crystal Black of Humble, TX, Brandon Black of Tyler, Brandi Black of Rusk, Mario and Yvonne McGowan of Rusk, and Novaline and Felix Lane of Jacksonville, TX; her cherished grandchildren Tristen, Jonah, Da'Marion, Joseph, Cambrien, Amari'ay, Drew, and AJ; her beloved grandogs, Papito and Reba. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce (Willie); her brothers, Jesse Travis (Carolyn), Ronnie (Vivian), Floyd (Celestine), and Reginald. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

She will forever be missed and never forgotten.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Mercy-McGowan Funeral Home and a service was held Saturday, January 15, 2022.
