Mark your calendars – it’s parade time!

This year’s Christmas parades throughout Cherokee County include:

• Jacksonville – 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. This year’s theme is “Christmas on Commerce”

• Gallatin – 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, followed by a reception at the fire station

• Rusk – 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7

• Troup – 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9

• Alto – The annual Lions Club Christmas parade begins at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13

Meanwhile, organizations that serve those in need are observing holiday hours:

• Rusk’s Good Samaritan Food Pantry and Thrift Store is closed Wednesday, Nov. 24

• Jacksonville’s Clothes Closet and More will be closed through Dec. 1

• HOPE – Jacksonville is closed Thanksgiving week

• Alto’s Chaparral Center will be open Nov. 24 for 9 a.m. bonus produce/milk distribution, then closes through Dec. 1
