Alyce Pauline Sawyer Wendling was born on February 26, 1981 in Eugene, Oregon to Lee Sawyer and Betsy Breaux-Weathers. She moved to Alto, TX in 1999 and resided there for most of her adult life. She passed away after a long battle on November 6, 2021 due to complications of weight loss surgery.

Alyce loved her family, horses, dogs and all kinds of animals. She attended Texas Horse Shoeing School and became a Certified Farrier. She and her mother owned Wander Horse Carriage Company and petting zoo. They performed horse drawn carriage service for weddings and special events for nearly 10 years. Alyce had a special love for children and wanted to have a Hippotherapy program for children. She was very talented and had a quick wit with a great sense of humor. She was a go getter and always had a smile.

Alyce is survived by her mother Betsy Weathers; step father Jim Weathers; husband Jeff Wendling; step daughter Amanda Wendling; aunts Nita Nickell and Linda Breaux; uncle Larry Breaux; and many family members in Oregon. Her father Lee Sawyer, her uncle Jay Breaux and aunt Judy Breaux preceded her in death. Alyce is so missed by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
