Susan Kae Burris
Susan Kae Burris was born in Lubbock Texas, on March 30, 1960 to wonderful parents, John and Shirley Burris. Susan grew up and lived most of her life in Fort Worth, Texas, and the last 8 years in East Texas. She graduated from Richland high school in 1978. Susan married Terry Hobson shortly after high school and they had two beautiful children, Eric and Jessica.
Throughout Susan’s life, she used her gifts and abilities to help so many people. Some of her many jobs included, teaching children at preschool, working with battered women in a women's shelter, and working with troubled teens at the boy’s ranch in Fort Worth. For the past few years, Susan worked for Home Health Care in Texas as a health care aide. She loved caring for her two families in East Texas, Miss Bobbie of Rusk and Miss Olivia and Mr. Jim of Whitehouse. She loved fishing, playing games, outings at the lake, and anything that involved fun and people.
Susan's goal was to help and love people. She will be remembered most for her kindness, compassion, her love for God and her heart to help those who are in need. In the last years, Susan faithfully helped take care of her mom who passed away in January of this year. Throughout her life, she attended and was faithful to many churches. In every church she took an active role, leading as a deacon and servant, teaching a Bible study class to children, working in vacation Bible school, and helping in any way that she could. Susan loved her church, Faith Bridge Community and church friends deeply.
It is impossible to sum up such an impactful life in such a small amount of words. Susan touched so many lives in her 61 years here on earth and she will be greatly missed. Her kindness and compassion set an example for her entire family and friends. Family was extremely important to her and friends and relationships were of utmost importance and priority.
She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Burris in January of 2021. She is survived by her father John Burris, of Alto, TX; son Eric Hobson and wife Rebel of New Orleans, LA; daughter Jessica Hall and husband Michael of Josephine, TX; and one grandson, Rick Hobson of New Orleans, LA.
